Fortress

And just like that, she locked her heart down again,

More securely than if placed in a fortress,

To never be opened again for any casual tourist.

Only a fool would test her walls.

She, once again, was in complete control-

Alone, but safe.

Stronger than steel,

Softer than velvet.

She kept the key

Hidden away safely,

Where no man or mouse

Could ever retrieve it,

Without her consent.
